Handmade Bracelet GOUTTE Orange
Handmade bracelet GOUTTE Orange made with silver 925, Murano glass beads and semiprecious stones
Cornelian is a brownish-red mineral semi-precious gemstone. Similar to cornelian is sard, which is generally harder and darker. Both carnelian and sard are varieties of the silica mineral chalcedony with some impurities of iron oxide. The color can vary greatly, ranging from pale orange to an intense almost-black coloration. It is most common in Brazil, India, Siberia and Germany.
Like lapis lazuli, carnelian is one of the earliest favored gems. All over the world, ancient peoples used both these stones for jewelry, seals, and talismans due to their beautiful colors and easy working. Interestingly, the blue lapis is associated with spirituality and priests. The warmer reddish carnelian, in contrast, is associated with kings. Carnelian symbolism also touches on health and luck. Perhaps due to its blood-like color, healers often prescribes wearing it as a general invigorator for the blood. Some wore it for problems such as nosebleeds, skin diseases, and PMS. Others carried it to stimulate sexual impulses.
Garnets are a group of silicate minerals used since the Bronze Age as gemstones and abrasives.
The Latin adjective granatus, abundant in grains (of granutn, grain, seed) means pomegranate, fruit of the pomegranate (“pomegranate apple”), whose seeds are red.
The red garnet (Grenat of Mozambique, Rhodolite garnet) is undoubtedly the best variety of garnet. It can be found in many ancient tales. In Greek mythology for example, it is mentioned in particular in the legend of the abduction of Persephone by Hades. Jewish and Muslim traditions consider they are always a symbol of light, but also of fidelity and truth.
